Curriculum

Our programs are based on the Federal Government’s national curriculum Early Years Learning Framework, to which we have added a strong multicultural focus and principles of Reggio Emilia.

There are five Learning Outcomes within the Early Years Learning Framework. They are:

  • Children have a Strong sense of identity
  • Children are connected with and contribute to their world
  • Children have a strong sense of wellbeing
  • Children are confident and involved learners
  • Children are effective communicators

We recognise that play-based learning is the best vehicle for young children’s physical, emotional and brain development. The Framework emphasises communication, language (including early literacy and numeracy), social and emotional development, inclusion and diversity, We also focus on sustainability and recycling, helping our children understand about caring for their environment.

All children are treated as individuals. Our educators interact at your child’s level and tailor programs to suit. You are encouraged to share observations and thoughts with us, so we can make our planning as effective as possible. Every week we display our programmes, so you can be confident that you’ll stay up-to-date. A primary caring model is used whereby your child will be allocated a primary carer.

Three themed rooms provide a stimulating environment for different age groups. Your child will find a rich mixture of activities, designed to encourage new ways of thinking and revealing new things about the world:

We also offer a pre-school/kindergarten program for children in the year before they begin formal schooling. A separate pre-school room will be available in early 2018.
