We operate on a strong foundation of ‘community-based’ care, striving for our centre to be a valued and genuine community resource which it has done so already for 50 years. This approach is fundamental to achieving key aspects of the National Quality Standard, specifically focusing on fostering strong partnerships with families and integrating with wider community resources.

Parent and Community Engagement

We actively encourage strong, two-way communication and collaboration, recognising families as the primary influence on their child’s development. Parents contribute to decision-making processes and the overall direction of the centre through their involvement:
  • Governing Committee: A joint committee, comprised of both parents and centre staff, meets monthly to discuss future projects, fundraising and how the committee can assist the Director .
  • Active Participation: All parents are encouraged to nominate themselves to join this Committee, enabling direct involvement and input into decisions made about the service, ensuring the service remains responsive to community needs.

Bridging Community Organisations

Beyond internal engagement, we actively bridge connections with various community organisations and services, enriching our program and providing holistic support for children and families.
  • Integrated Support: We collaborate with local allied health professionals, support services, and other community resources to ensure that children’s diverse needs are met effectively and seamlessly.
  • Community Events & Resources: We utilise local community resources and invite external community organisations to participate in our programs and events, fostering a strong sense of belonging and connectedness for children and families within the broader community. You can see us at the local meet ups and the Annual Brompton Spring Fair.
