Nutrition
Kids need healthy and delicious food to enable them to learn and play, which is why our cook prepares fresh nutritious food daily. All snacks and lunches are supplied as part of our childcare program, however breakfast must be provided if your child starts prior to 8am.
The meals your child receives will depend on whether they attend full day (all snacks and lunch), morning session (morning tea and lunch), afternoon session (afternoon tea and late snack) or pre-school (snacks and lunch, but children must provide a whole piece of uncut fruit each day they attend).
Food is also a social occasion, and we encourage the children to get involved. Whether it be something as simple as serving their own food, something as exciting as watering and picking fruits and vegetables on our onsite gardens, or something more complex like getting involved in meal preparation.
All food prepared at the centre is Halal, and we are also able to cater to special dietary requirements (such as diary free or vegetarian).
We are an accredited ‘start right, eat right’ centre which means that all meals are prepared with nutrition and balanced diet in mind that are low in salt, sugar and fat. We also meet the requirements of the Food Safety Program and all of our staff are trained in safe food handling.
If your child has a nut allergy, rest assured that we are a nut-free centre.
